"Art & Business Conference"

Come and join us in the castle Borl at the crucial transitional celebration June 9-11!
From Friday, June 9th at 7PM till Sunday 11th evening

Our 8th Art&Business exploration will give expression to the emerging journey towards European Identity by calling forth artistic capabilities in every entrepreneur and manager.

What will you be experiencing?

Violinist Miha Pogačnik will embark upon "Well Tempered Europa" with pianist Diana Baker on Friday, and then on Saturday, the Slovenian Symphony Orchestra will spend the whole day with us, you will "sit in" within Sibelius Violin Concerto (please read the article "Surround the Orchestra").

Michael Spencer will lead you on "business exploration" through Stravinky's Petrushka and jam session.

Some of you will be able to test your (organisational) conducting skills with the orchestra under the guidance of maestro Frans Rasmussen, Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.

Throughout the weekend David Pearl will involve everyone in improvised opera production: we want this Borl event to be a learning experience on many levels!

Margaret Wheatley will in her poetic way weave these learnings to make them fruitful.

The whole castle will become alive with emerging "Storygarden" (with special emphasis on Parsifal story in its challenging relationship to modern-day corporate dilemmas) through Storygarden founders Bernard "Dado" Anson Silj from Rome and Amanda Bucklow from London.

We should celebrate with joy and gratefulness! How rich past 12 years with Borl have been! How many personal biographies have been touched in unique ways! There is only ONE castle in the world that comes so close to the Grail story, connecting in mysterious way to the Camelot on the western periphery of Europe, confirming this challenge of our time: Productive tension of centre and periphery, the living inspiration of Art to penetrate the sphere of Economy, calling forth the Polyphonic European Identity!

But there are clouds gathering above the Borl's ancient tower:  Slovenian Ministry of Culture is about to announce the public tender for long-term lease. Beside our foundation there is another person who wants to lease the castle and he is offering 1M dollars as overture for him to obtain the castle to further develop his own idea of gallery in Borl. We can not match this in a short time of 3 - 4 months in which we have to submit our application. Our only strength is you, our friends of Borl, and implementation of creative ideas together with you. If you would like to know more in detail, please contact Sabina@borl.org.

You will be sitting among the players to experience the process and performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto (Pogačnik/Rasmussen), transfer of the process of Stravinsky's Petrushka (Michael Spencer), you will be able to try conducting (Rasmussen) and there will be a jamsession (Spencer/Jack Pinter). Day 3, Sunday June 11th: "Let Come": Creation, emergence, learnings-debriefing, celebration.

Charged with all the experience, emotion and insight we consider our own stories. The ones we want to tell. The ones our world needs to hear. The ones we intend to live.

With the help of David Pearl, we’ll all be involved in co-creating and performing a shared narrative; weaving together what we have learned together in act of full hearted experiment, sensitivity and spontaneity.
